The Yellow Brick Road Boutique, Parnell Auckland
This last Saturday a few girlfriends and I went to the store launch for Yellow Brick Road.
It's so dainty and pretty.
There is nothing not to love in there.

Picture Me - A model's diary
In my humble opinion, Picture Me - A Model's Diary was average.I like the way it was filmed, but Sara Ziff doesn't really expose any new information, most of what was brought up is already common knowledge, the drug use, the sexual advances, the opportunistic agents.
Unfortunately its the same challenges faced in a lot of other jobs, the difference being the age of the girls faced with these problems in the modelling world.
Yes I understand that designers want girls who lack curves, and its usually girls who are 13-16 who fit this description there should be some sort of legal protection and education offered to this girls who are only children.
I like that she brought up the idea that all these girls are essentially doing are parading their bodies and getting payed heaps for it, and comparing this to being a prostitute. Why are these girls getting paid the exorbitant amount that they are getting? What is special about their job? One could say its because its because not just anyone can do their job but again its the same with other jobs.
But good on Sara Ziff for actually documenting the issues and taking it to the big screen for all to see, every attempt to bring awareness to an issue should be applauded in my opinion. some change has to come from it right ?

A list of fun things I want to with friends over summer:
1. Have a poker night
2. Go to the Langham for high tea
3. Roadtrip to Coromandel
4. Have an 80's prom theme party - I want an excuse to wear those shiny dresses and have big hair
5. Big Day Out and Laneway
I am sure this list will get longer and costlier!
